Just like “woot.com” we romanians are proud to have 3 one-day-one-product-type sites: in chronological order ghelir.ro, zoop.ro and zazazoo.ro (the ladder is focused on women and women-dedicated products). I have them all in my feed scouting for that special little present just for my heart… well it has arrived!!!
In case I haven’t mentioned I am totally in love with notebooks, agendas, personal stuff like that and the Jordi Labanda agenda above is like a little jewel.
FINALLY a different, unordinary, special, sweet and glamorous present on Zazazoo. Read the rest of this entry »

Since I mentioned Paris I can mention anything on this blog!
Following my celebrity post earlier i just wanted to show you a different kind of “controversial”. Bad controversial.
Amy Winehouse is sooo talented and her “black” voice in that little white body is amazing. Why on Earth would you want to do this to yourself? I like tatoos but a horseshoe?!
As an artist, before making money from endorsements the first product you have to make look good is yourself. What products or services do you think Amy can be the image of ?

I just looove to learn about what stuff celebrities “create”. It perfectly makes sense to endorse one of your own products (handbags, doggy clothing etc.) as opposed to “sell yourself” to other brands, especially if money is no object like in Ms. Paris’ case. But WHAT celebrities come up with to carry their names gets goofier every year.
Paris Hilton is strongly promoting CANNED CHAMPAGNE. No mistake about it. It’s supposed to be classy, chic and glamorous fitting the ads in which Paris is all gold…
I “know” i would feel pretty sophisticated drinking champagne from a can….especially when I know 20% of my alchohol spent money is going to charity! oh… also the name of the product makes me feel all fancy and special, it’s called RICH PROSECCO
In one word this product is controversial.
see what I’m talking about? when you’ve got that much money you can play and play…

I don’t really know how much she believes in this product’s success but what i honestly like is that she has a clear defined style and communication direction. She knows exactly what she wants to do with her image and all she does is focused and fitting the big picture.
All my respects for that! I don’t think Paris is as “blonde” as she wants us to believe…

Every year’s end we are overwhelmed with all sorts of “toptens”. I loooove this one :
Thinker’s 50 - The world’s most important and influential business people.
How incredibly cool can it be to have your business card say “thinker”?! I can’t make up my mind if it’s better than Alain Thys’s business card which proudly states “storyteller”. It’s true! Heard it from the man himself at a conference this year.
This year’s #1 is CK Prahalad, indian of origin. (I’ve always thought India is much more powerful than they would have the rest of the world believe.)
I believe he deserves indeed the first place for trying to cast the focus away from the luxury niches , from that all mighty consumer who can carry you with him to his glory if only you could come up with another “need” he doesn’t know yet must be fulfilled. And fulfill it for him. Instead, he makes an argument that “the bottom of the pyramid”, the poor of the world are a market as well and quite a large one which companies have ignored and mistaken about. A market where growth can exist and prosperity is not so far away.
Another important issue he argues is the misunderstanding of globalization and the “new” pro-active consumer by companies worldwide and consequently the opportunities not taken.

I’m also happy to say that #2 in line is our favorite all time hero/bad-guy Bill Gates!
You can also find old Mr. Kotler at #8.
WARNING! Be very careful on how you interpret a top where Donald Trump ranks is 20! That’s right Mr. Personal-Branding-and-Real-Hestate-Guru himself above Steve Jobs! (I won’t even mention Thomas Friedman and the others below…)
Oh well… gotta go now brainwash my little sister into becoming a THINKER! It’s too late for me…

George Jetson enters a car-repair shop. His boss’s car is totally wrecked , completely ruined. George and the mechanic in charge:
George: ”So? Can you fix it?”
Repair-man: “Well Sir, our slogan is we can fix anything”
George: “Great. That means that you’ll fix it?”
Repair-man: “It might be easier to change the slogan.”

I don’t usually like to copy-paste but I strongly believe good ideas have to be shared.
In this note I consider brilliant the partnership between Cosmote (Greek mobile operator present also in Romania) and The National Association of the Deaf of Romania (ANSR) through which the mobile company offers 3 million free SMS messages to the members of this organization.
It may not be an actual CSR innitiative yet but that depends on how they pull this string further.
