i haven’t watched the news since last night but i can imagine…: “lots of fools stood in the rain and cold to witness the beyonce experience“…

i loved:

• the perfect sound system
• her “all female band”;
• her dancer’s abs (you had to be there to know what i’m talking about here)
• the fact that she did perform despite the weather
• the fact that her voice is much thicker when she’s simply talking :D… i’m sure she can intimidate jay-z with that

not so much

• she sang “irreplaceable” last and she could have pulled on that thread a little more
• the show was only good, not spectacular
• not enough chemistry with the audience

conclusion: i’m gonna go take something for my sore throat

I participated this week at a most interesting event in bucharest, masterplan 2007. the only bad part is that I don’t live in bucharest and had to travel about 500km, but it was worth it.  i got a lot of cool marketing insights especially due to the two guest stars, Jeffre Jackson and Alain Thys. it’s too late to tell you more right know but i definitely have to share… therefore i’ve got a masterplan of my own:

because i get caught up in the everyday hurricane i missed on writing a lot of stuff i should have and really wanted to, especially on marketing topics. soooo  i’ll write about them from now on, including the masterplan conference, and i’ll make a new special category :

This is the original happy face design , created by Harvey Ball, a freelance graphic designer in 1963! I told you I was happy.

In 1963 an assurance company director hired Harvey Ball to design a button that would boost morale in his company, which had recently undergone a merger.

The designer originally drew only a smile and later added the eyes because he feared the employees would wear the buttons upside down. And thus the happy face global phenomenon was born.

Imagine the “fame and fortune” the designer or the assurance company could have had if only they had registered the design. They haven’t. The designer got 45$ for his work, and the world got the happy face.

I do believe I am finally on the right track … glorious days are coming

I have officially killed my life-long habit of chewing my nails! I haven’t chewed them for about 1 and a half months now. They look gorgeous! The difference between my hands now and my hands 2 months ago is sky high! (I’m desperately looking for “before” pictures to show you).
I have always known hands are important and say a lot about a person but , because of my filthy habit I have been in denial for 10 years. Just like smoking, I have consciously ignored the obvious benefits and focused on the illusion of “I can’t help it”, “It’s because of the stress” etc etc etc. With the risk of sounding like Cosmopolitan I must say I FEEL SO MUCH MORE CONFIDENT and simply good about myself… but this is NOT ALL…

The big tada is…

I have quit smoking exactly one week ago and haven’t had one smoke since. I can’t begin to tell you how incredibly great I feel about myself. It’s not easy(especially on my boyfriend), I have moments of minor depression and irritation but I know they are all because of the addiction to nicotine and that they will pass in a little while… I am  h a p p y.

I didn’t want to say anything about this until I was sure I have quit forever. Now I am sure :D  I haven’t done this by myself. I had a lot of help in quitting and I’m sure my method can work for others… so I’m going to share it later on.

From now, no matter how horrible my day is I will always have something to make me feel better and put a smile on my face: the fact that I am free! I quit.

It’s totally destroying my balance of goals on Joe’s Goals!

I just added the goal “smoking” which obviously cannot be a positive one. Thus it is my single solitary negative goal. Also I put a maxim weight (if you’re using Joe’s Goals you know what I’m talking about) of 10 points, therefore, I have to check 10 positive goals only to achieve “break-even”.

I can’t wait to quit smoking!
