I’ll be receiving my cap and gown to wear at my Graduation Ceremony on May 24 !
I’m so nervous and excited… I can’t believe I’m graduating! This post may mark the beginning of the beginning of a new era :D May not seem much but I’m sure it was or will be for each one of you :P. Look here or here if interested in why we’re wearing this strange outfit at graduation.

graduation cap and gown … just another one in the dust…

i found this little jewel on a cute fashion blog i read. i read it because i was seriously considering at some point to start such a blog with a fashion-victim-in-a-good-way close friend. maybe we will one day, ’till then i’m happy with modette.ro

i wonder if the male version has a little tail … that was an obvious cliche i know :D

High tech teens

February 6th, 2008 by deedeecus

Short story to learn from:

My sister’s computer crashed. The obvious solution was formatting, but first you gotta save all the data, right? Since I’m a proud Computer Science student she turned to me for advice. I turned to my boyfriend :)

Anyway… I was trying to explain to her, on YM , how to take the hard, put it in another computer and thus making it like another big folder from where she could copy-paste her needed info.

‘ So sis? Do you understand?’

‘ Well… I thought of making it a slave on mom’s comp but I’m not sure I have the jumper anymore and it’s not a Seagate’

She’s 16. When I was 16… better not open that closet.

My point is that all the talking, market searches and trend spotting in advertising seems to give the advertisers a glimps on the generation they so desperately want to target. But do they really know who they’re talking to? This (RO) and this (RO) (in this last case I’m only talking about the naming originality of net division) seem to prove the contrary. Creativity is a tough cookie.

To creativly :) ilustrate the obvious trend, High tech teens on Freshome: high tech teens

Status report

January 31st, 2008 by deedeecus

It’s been a month in the New Year and I’ve finally came around to blogging again. I hope you all started on the right foot… like me :)

The fact is that I am buried in my “to do list” which may now cover the distance from here(Cluj) to my hometown. I have to get my efficiency levels higher and deedeecus.com needs to find its path. Not to complain in typical Romanian style, I just wanted to tell you my current status and somehow motivate scarce posting.

  • Most important and exciting, the .ro project I have been working on for quite a while is soon to be unveiled… can’t wait!
  • I am in the middle of the “exam session”. Since I’m a proud student of two Universities, my work is double aka the number of exams :)
  • Although my marketing job is very flexible, deadlines are deadlines
  • My mind is on several interesting project proposals which I’m tempted to squeeze in…
  • Last but not least I’m in search of the ultimate Master course since I graduate this year :) I decided to specialize in Marketing so I’m searching for a suitable Master to take. I’m thinking nothing fancy, but something worth putting time into which will help me specialize and fit my current lifestyle. This seems worth looking into…

One of my resolutions for ‘08 was to “blog with value”. This means I wish to make deedeecus.com a personal place but with a clear focus and definite value to my readers. Until I figure this out and make a decision I dare suggest you a few “local” blogs which inspired me to make a change and I feel value me as a reader each time.

You probably know most of them, if not, they may be an inspiration to you too.

my first time

November 28th, 2007 by deedeecus

it was rough…my back still hurts, my bottom still hurts , i don’t know WHAT i’ve been doing with my hands that they also hurt and surprisingly my legs don’t hurt at all. i say surprisingly because when i decided to do this my friends warned me that it would be physically challenging but they only mentioned the leg/wrist/ankle pain.

besides all this it was the most relaxing and intense experience i’ve had so far. i can’t believe i didn’t do it earlier!

yes, i’m talking about snowboarding!
like i mentioned in the previous post i went on the slopes near Baia Mare this weekend to try out a new experience… damn it was worth it. i want to thank “turism maramures” about the tip. we did go to Cavnic but unfortunately we had to move to the Suior slope because, as a true beginner, i wasn’t able to go up the slope using their equipment (teleski is it?) and the Suior slope has a more beginner-friendly funicular thingy.

next time i’ll take pictures. in the meantime i stole some so you could see where i had so much fun

tell you more later cause i desperately need a massage right now :D

miracles

October 29th, 2007 by deedeecus

i’m turning 22 this saturday.

i’m thinking that by the time i reach 30 i should have at least one baby… of my own… i’ve always thought this as reasonable life planning.

lifebut nothing that i have learned since i was old enough to remember has supporded my little plan.

it started with elementary biology / genetics where i had to memorize and study a long list of “possible malfunctions” of us humans , from the common cold that aparently has no cure!!! (i was as shocked when i learned that as when i learned about Santa) to elephantiasis and Down syndrome.

THEN, i went to collage. no problem, i didn’t go to any medical school, but lots of my friends did. so now i learn about more possible genetic disorders and infections and viruses and and and

at this point my brain automatically reached the eternal conclusion - “it’s a miracle healthy people are even born” and the constant asault of news of terror, hunger, crime and sadness in the world lead my brain to another eternal wonder “do i even want to bring somebody into THIS world?”

AND NOW… a news to top it all on TVR1, the national romanian channel:
in 2004 there were 323 of new cases of cancer affecting children of maximum 14 years old. in 2005, the number was 7,700! and at the end of 2006 there were almost 11,000 of new cases of cancer affecting children (in Romania)

maybe we don’t deserve miracles anymore…
