  • google moma, google’s intranet

I just love engineers, especially those in computer science you know why? Because of their brilliant naming talent. E.g. GOOGLE MOMA, the giant’s intranet… how cool is that? “moma” :D
Also you wanna look at Linux operating systems if you’re interested in how geeks have fun :P they’re killers in naming. More on “how cool is it to work for google” here. via read/write web.

Hey…! Vivi works for Google! hey Vivi give us mortals a little insight! How’s moma? :D

all the gurus

November 29th, 2007 by deedeecus

Every year’s end we are overwhelmed with all sorts of “toptens”. I loooove this one :

Thinker’s 50 - The world’s most important and influential business people.
How incredibly cool can it be to have your business card say “thinker”?! I can’t make up my mind if it’s better than Alain Thys’s business card which proudly states “storyteller”. It’s true! Heard it from the man himself at a conference this year.

This year’s #1 is CK Prahalad, indian of origin. (I’ve always thought India is much more powerful than they would have the rest of the world believe.)

I believe he deserves indeed the first place for trying to cast the focus away from the luxury niches , from that all mighty consumer who can carry you with him to his glory if only you could come up with another “need” he doesn’t know yet must be fulfilled. And fulfill it for him. Instead, he makes an argument that “the bottom of the pyramid”, the poor of the world are a market as well and quite a large one which companies have ignored and mistaken about. A market where growth can exist and prosperity is not so far away.

Another important issue he argues is the misunderstanding of globalization and the “new” pro-active consumer by companies worldwide and consequently the opportunities not taken.

I’m also happy to say that #2 in line is our favorite all time hero/bad-guy Bill Gates!
You can also find old Mr. Kotler at #8.

WARNING! Be very careful on how you interpret a top where Donald Trump ranks is 20! That’s right Mr. Personal-Branding-and-Real-Hestate-Guru himself above Steve Jobs! (I won’t even mention Thomas Friedman and the others below…)

Oh well… gotta go now brainwash my little sister into becoming a THINKER! It’s too late for me…

my first time

November 28th, 2007 by deedeecus

it was rough…my back still hurts, my bottom still hurts , i don’t know WHAT i’ve been doing with my hands that they also hurt and surprisingly my legs don’t hurt at all. i say surprisingly because when i decided to do this my friends warned me that it would be physically challenging but they only mentioned the leg/wrist/ankle pain.

besides all this it was the most relaxing and intense experience i’ve had so far. i can’t believe i didn’t do it earlier!

yes, i’m talking about snowboarding!
like i mentioned in the previous post i went on the slopes near Baia Mare this weekend to try out a new experience… damn it was worth it. i want to thank “turism maramures” about the tip. we did go to Cavnic but unfortunately we had to move to the Suior slope because, as a true beginner, i wasn’t able to go up the slope using their equipment (teleski is it?) and the Suior slope has a more beginner-friendly funicular thingy.

next time i’ll take pictures. in the meantime i stole some so you could see where i had so much fun

tell you more later cause i desperately need a massage right now :D

George Jetson enters a car-repair shop. His boss’s car is totally wrecked , completely ruined.  George and the mechanic in charge:

George: ”So? Can you fix it?”
Repair-man: “Well Sir, our slogan is we can fix anything
George: “Great. That means that you’ll fix it?”
Repair-man: “It might be easier to change the slogan.”

  • simply congratulations to Vladimir Oane and his Big Bang Project for winning the 11minutes “battle” this week. The competition was tough but I believe the best won. i can’t wait for the winning application to be functional . it’s an idea i wish i had thought of myself.

Big Bang Project, an application that will help users publish different types of content (movies, pictures, blog posts, news, job listing, classifieds etc) on a variety of platforms (like Blogger, YouTube, Wordpress etc) and track the reactions of the content on all the platforms from a central location. (11minutes.net)

  • i’m going to learn snowboarding this weekend !!! i bought all the equipment i need and we’re going to enjoy the snow at Suior Maramures! i’m so excited !!! :D
