I say better life because I believe that things you come in contact with most often or on a daily basis should get most of your attention and resources. For example: a mouse. You handle it every day/ every week. Why buy a cheap one and in a hurry, why pay no attention to your choice when it is something you use so often ?
Think about it! It may actually make your life better.
Following this train of thought I found “7 most important interior design principles”.
You don’t have time to go through all those interior design magazines or enough money to hire an interior decorator? No problem. Just seven principles to feel better every day, in a nutshell:
- Unity and harmony
- Balance
- Focal Point
- Rhythm
- Details
- Scale and proportion
- Color
If you are interested, have a little more detailed look at them here.

My “partner in crime” just pointed out that I am “wasting” hours every day reading blogs. I never thought of it like this… Indeed! I am spending about 2 hours every day reading all sorts of blogs. Sometimes I even eat at my computer reading blogs (it feels like I’m saving time that way)… OMG!
I hear every day about people who have hundreds of blogs in their reader and go through them every day in half an hour… How is that possible? I don’t read everything everything… almost everything… Oh well, I’m gonna try to reorganize this habbit.
It’s that damn Google Reader! It keeps refreshing!

“This week high-speed railways in France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland joined with existing international services, such as the cross-channel Eurostar and the Paris-Brussels Thalys, to form Railteam, a new marketing alliance. The aim by the end of next year is to have one website that will allow travellers to view timetables and prices and, with one or two clicks, book tickets from one end of Europe to another.” -The Economist, June 05 , 2007
An old battle field, a new battle.
It is a good time to attack, from the railroad’s operators perspective. They just have to emphasize what is already happening: traffic jams, traffic stress, crowded airports, long queues and security checks, climate changes and pollution levels. After all what they’re offering is much “greener” than any air company can ever hope to be.
Just take a minute and picture this:

It’s been a week since my last post. I was too ashamed to blog. Seriously. The next day I lit up a cigarette. I’m so sorry… All the people I know who quit smoking have done it all of a sudden and forever. They stopped and never looked back.
I’m the one in black.
Taking all this into consideration I am changing my strategy! It is obvious that I don’t have what it takes (ambition, stress free life… whatever) so I will get help:
a book. Don’t laugh just yet!
IT is called “The easy way to stop smoking” - by Allen Carr. I heard it “messes” with your head and really may help. The obvious came to mind: what have I got to loose?
I must state that I truly don’t believe a book can make you do something that you alone, with a little ambition and focus, cannot. BUT because I am desperate I just xeroxed it from a friend who made the recommendation and started reading (didn’t find it in book stores here). Now we’ll see how big of a looser I really am …

Later!

I have been smoking 20-40 cigarettes per day for 5 years and I can’t take it any more.
